Bassingbourn Tower Museum - Hangar Dance
To raise funds for the renovation and restoration of the Control Tower at Bassingbourn.
Hangar 3 at Bassingbourn, the hangar that the Memphis Belle was maintained in.
The Memphis Belle Swing Orchestra from the 1980's Hollywood Movie are booked and there's a Cash Bar, food will be available and there's even a pre-Dance workshop for all those wanting to have a crash course in the Jive etc.
Period dress is optional, but encouraged, and tickets are only available in advance (no sales on the night). The last dance in 2007 sold out (all 1000 tickets), so best to book early if possible.

1940s Weekend Kent & East Sussex Railway
On the 15 and 16 May 2010 steam back to the 1940’s with the Kent & East Sussex railway at their railway stations in Northiam, Bodiam and Tenterden.
Visitors can re-live the forties lifestyle with period vehicles, music and dancing. Period features including sand bags, taped windows, Viv the Spiv and other characters in authentic costume all adding to the nostalgic atmosphere. Visitors can also enjoy a full steam train service on the railway’s vintage trains over the two days. A range of civilian and military vehicles, privately owned and fully restored to their former war time glory will also be on display.

French Resistance During the Second World War by Terry Crowdy.
Author & historian Terry Crowdy will be giving a presentation on the French Resistance, how it was organised and run, and the role of British security services in its organisation. Terry spoke to us inSeptember 2009 when he spoke on 'Deceiving Hitler' and we're delighted to have him back for what I'm sure will be a fascinating evening.

RAF Biggin Hill family day & dance
The all day event will take place in the St Raphael Chapel and surrounding grounds and will be fundraising for the Air Training Corps cadets and local soldier James Cutting who needs a new set of false teeth after being seriously wounded in Afghanistan.
Activities during the day:
- WW2 military vehicles and static living history displays;
- Stalls selling military history books and militaria;
- Dance classes held in the Chapel by Nick Kirby;
- Food and drinks for sale in the kitchen by the Stage Door Canteen staff;
- A flight simulator in an ex-RAF Chipmunk is available to use at a set fee;
- A live 1930s/40s band.
The evening's entertainment will be a private Charity Ball for advanced ticket holders only, starting at 7.30pm till midnight, with 3 top DJs playing their 40s tracks. There will be a WW2 dress code.

Come to the railway and enjoy the explosive battle to liberate the station, try your hand with the wartime firefighting equipment, see the gunnery display, the fashion show and fall your children in for drill and combat training.
