Men of Britain
The Premier Home Guard Living History Group

By bringing the memory of the Home Guard back to life, The Men of Britain are determined that the important role played by these part time soldiers is professionally re-created to educate, inform and remember their sacrifice - 1200 home guards lost their life in pursuit of the defence of our country.

We will remember them.

The group pride itself on their 'turn out' and attention to detail. From the level of displayed personal kit, right down to the contents of their pockets, through to smart battledress and military etiquette. Men of Britain never forget that the Home Guard comprised of soldiers who had served during The Great War and by mid-1942 had been formed into a highly effective fighting force.

By representing a section of men, with uniform equipment - the standards are high and they aspire for excellence in everything they do. Their first person re-enactment creates characters with a real past - possibly an old soldier who fought at Thiepval in the battle of the Somme in 1916, or a young private soldier with a reserved occupation - you will have a chance to meet and interact with the group on many levels.
