By bringing the memory of the Home Guard back to life, The Men of Britain are determined that the important role played by these part time soldiers is professionally re-created to educate, inform and remember their sacrifice - 1200 home guards lost their life in pursuit of the defence of our country.
We will remember them.
A mid-war Home Guard private will be represented with studded leather soled ammo boots and leather gaiters, full 37 pattern battledress, a 1903 pattern belt and webbing with BAR pouches, bayonet and leather frog, P17 rifle, ten rounds of ammunition, field service cap with badge, tin helmet and camouflage netting, water bottle with leather cradle, wearable respirator with haversack and full anti-gas equipment (including gas cape).
Great care and cost has ensured the section has standard matched equipment to present a uniform turnout of men.
