Men of Britain
The Premier Home Guard Living History Group

By bringing the memory of the Home Guard back to life, The Men of Britain are determined that the important role played by these part time soldiers is professionally re-created to educate, inform and remember their sacrifice - 1200 home guards lost their life in pursuit of the defence of our country.

We will remember them.

The Men of Britain are able to create and occupy a Home Guard HQ office for special events and even leave the collected artefacts in place as a permanent display at various museums in the South East of England (please contact us for an up to date list).

This display is fully equipped with telephone, reference books, furniture and training materials - accurate detail to the very last pencil and paper on the desk. By working with museum staff and the buildings of appropriate age, the Men of Britain are able to demonstrate that they can turn any period building into a credible backdrop for an interactive living history display.

Similar static displays have been created for special events at Bletchley Park, EXPLOSION! in Gosport, Manor Farm near Southampton, Tilford Rural Life museum and various heritage steam railways throughout the UK.
