Men of Britain
The Premier Home Guard Living History Group

By bringing the memory of the Home Guard back to life, The Men of Britain are determined that the important role played by these part time soldiers is professionally re-created to educate, inform and remember their sacrifice - 1200 home guards lost their life in pursuit of the defence of our country.

We will remember them.

The group are also able to faithfully recreate a Home Guard weekend training camp using original tentage, cooking equipment and facilities for training.

The display at Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire in 2004, created an authentic working camp for around ten men and allowed the public to see bayonet practice, rifle range shooting, grenade drill and positioning of strategic defence points to protect roads and bridges in the event of an invasion.

This event is recognised as one of the premier displays of authentic living history representing the Home Guard as they could have been observed at any time between 1941-1944.
