Another excellent book published by Sutton Publishing full of original photographs and lots of information concerning the various aspects of Britain's Civil Defence.

This book differs from some of the other Sutton Publishing books in that there is much more text rather than just captioned photographs. Don't be put off though as the text is very readable and there are still lots of lovely wartime photographs and cartoons to study.

Mike Brown has done an excellent job of putting together not only a history of Britain's Civil Defence and its activities but also a good number of personal accounts. These are scattered throughout the book and add a much more personal flavour. It reminds us that this was about real people doing a real job in very dangerous circumstances..

An excellent book containing 220 pages full of information for those interested in Britain's Home Front. If it's not in your collection I thoroughly recommend you get it.
