Another book published by Sutton Publishing which once I started reading I couldn't put down. If you have an interest in the Home Front and in particular the Home Guard then this is a 'must have' book. |

After a brief introduction to the Home Guard this 125 page paperback book displays page after page of photographs and detailed annotations showing the Home Guard in its different forms and fulfilling many different functions. The book is split into chapters which cover different aspects from its early beginnings when it was the LDV to its final stand down and its brief reincarnation in the 1950's. It isn't a heavy, text based volume but rather a nice photograph album with both interesting photographs and enlightening captions. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the book with its 200+ original photographs and captions and would like to thank the author, David Carroll for his hard work in putting such a fascinating collection together. |
