    Welcome to the 1940s Society

A new book on CC41 Utility clothing is at last now available. Mike Brown the author is well known to those with an interest in WW2 homefront and this is not only a beautifully illustrated book but a mine of information on a subject that is often misunderstood.

John Leet's updated "The New Forest at War" has been reformatted with new images and additional text and is a fascinating read for those interested in the area or with an interest in the build up to D-Day from a local perspective.

If you have an interest In D-Day or plan to visit Normandy then the new book by Stuart Rebertson and Dale Booth will be a perfect addition to the bookshelf. Combining a history book with a guidebook gives a wonderful book full of historical and modern photographs and the most informative text. (I'm rather enthusiastic about it!!)

The introduction of our exclusive members area with additional content and special offers has been popular and there will certainly be more to add. If you are a member and have not yet received access to the membership area please let me know. The latest magazine is available for members to view along with the back issues if they have mislaid their printed copies.

If you haven't already joined the Society then join online to receive our regular newsletter full of information and offers as well as our additional on-line content. (Click on the link above for details).

More books are being added so do take a look. We have some which we have been able to obtain at a great discount which we can pass on to you. Be quick though as we have limited quantities.

Enjoy the site and do keep an eye open for more updates and additional material. I'm in the process of adding more video content throughout the site so keep an eye open for this.

Thanks for all your continued support and do please continue to email me with your reviews, reminiscences and comments for the site and the magazine.
